One example of testing is the use
of the SG-1139 to test a multi-
plexer for errors.
Because the input (channel) rate
of a multiplexer is different from
its output (group or PCM) rate,
and because a multiplexer ordi-
testing must be used.
A typical procedure would be as
follows:
q At
Multiplexer,
Loopback
connect XMIT P C M
OUT to RCVR PCM
IN.
Use a cable termi-
Multiplexer
nated in multipin
Channel
connectors to con-
nect to J1 or J2
of Interface Box.
Connect other end
of cable to the
connector on the
Multiplexer that
corresponds to the
channel to be
tested.
q Use
two BNC adapt-
Interface
ers and a BNC ca-
Box Channel
ble to connect
SG-1139 DIPHASE
OUT to Interface
Box IN connectors
(channels 1-5-9,
2-6-10, 3-7-11, or
4-8-12, as
required).
q Use
two BNC adapt-
ers and a BNC ca-
ble to connect
SG-1139 DIPHASE IN
to Interface Box
OUT connectors
(same channels as
above).
